Temporary Single-Lane Traffic Pattern at Lansdale Interchange
The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission advises motorists entering the Lansdale Interchange (Exit #31) from Sumneytown Pike (State Route 63) and heading toward the Northeastern Extension (I-476), that starting the week of Jan. 26 a single-lane traffic pattern will be implemented and will remain in effect throughout the week of Feb. 9.
Weather permitting, the contractor will be working on the ramp that takes traffic from the toll plaza to northbound I-476. Drilling an overhead sign structure foundation and installing sound barrier panels on the east side of the ramp will take approximately three weeks and will require traffic to be shifted away from the work area for the safety of motorists and construction crews.
To safely control traffic merging into the temporary single-lane pattern, the number of entry lanes will be reduced to two (lanes 3 and 4) and will accept E-ZPass and tickets for traffic entering the toll plaza. The schedule is subject to change.
The Borough maintains a collection site for Christmas Trees next to the Red Hill Maintenance building. Trees may be dropped off between Wednesday, December 31sr and Monday, January 21st. CHRISTMAS TREES ONLY any other dumping will be subject to a $1,000 fine.
